There’s a stretch of early spring where winter doesn’t leave quietly.

It softens for a day or two — the air warms, the light shifts, and everything begins to stir — and then, almost stubbornly, the cold returns. Snow falls again, settling over a landscape that had just started to wake.

Between Snow and Bloom lives in that push and pull.

In this piece, one rabbit rests, still held in winter, while the other is awake and watching. Snow lingers across the meadow in soft, pale waves, even as crocuses and daffodils rise through it — reaching toward something just out of view.

The foreground is rich with deep greens and earth tones, grounding us in the promise of what’s near — while the distant meadow drifts in pastel blues and whites, as if winter has gently laid itself back down one last time.

I found myself drawn to violets and greens in this piece — colors I don’t often use, but ones that feel like spring pressing closer. There’s a quiet nod here to the season ahead, to Easter, and to the feeling that something new is just beginning to unfold.

This piece is a reflection of that in-between moment — where both seasons exist at once, and the world is quietly deciding what comes next.
